Description
I guess this is a commissioned piece or something like that. It was requested by my wife's boss for her husband for xmas. He is a leader in Scouts Canada and she thought it would be a nice gift for him.
It has the Scouts emblem, the fleur-de-lys inside a maple leaf, with the initials S C outside and the boat on the New Brunswick flag, simplified somewhat. It also has a scalar handgrip and was made from a piece of birch that was already dry when it was cut. The colour was brought out with linseed oil and it was coated with marine varnish in case he takes it on outings. All in all, a nice piece.

Congrats on a fine result Al ... impressive. And the staggeringly productive staff party sounds good too with its resulting paid commissions.
