Description
This is a natural geological formation in the Humber Valley of Newfoundland. In the earlier years of the island's history, there were three chests of treasure buried on Shellbird Island in the Humber River, just below here, by pirates. The face was used as a reference to find it again, although they didn't come back for them. One chest was recovered in the 1930s, I think, and there are still two left. At least I think that's more or less the story of it.
A small abstract about it can be seen here www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/77… .
